simple sustainable seafood
As directors of the SEALEG Foundation, Ashley and I have been intimately involved in the lionfish movement since early 2016. Our volunteer work has allowed us to travel the globe preaching the value of engaging private business in efforts to control the lionfish invasion. We firmly believe that responsible economic development and sound environmental policy do not have to be at odds. In fact, for the bold and creative, great opportunity exists.
SEALEG EATS is the for-profit product of this philosophy. By purchasing our first (and second) food truck and investing in the infrastructure to export lionfish food products from Florida, we’re literally putting our money where our mouth is… we’re practicing what we preach.
Whether it’s a backyard barbeque, a street fair, or a music festival, we at SEALEG EATS look forward to educating you and feeding you the finest sustainable seafood the Gulf of Mexico has to offer. We appreciate your business and look forward to seeing you on the road.
Until then, dive safe, eat lionfish!

Spearfishing is a highly selective discipline that eliminates the bycatch and incidental mortality associated with other methods of take.
We harvest many of the fish we sell directly from our own vessel, a 22' Glacier Bay catamaran known affectionately as "Luff Monkey".
Lionfish are invasive and a dire threat to our ecosystem. When serving other seafood, we avoid popular, better known species as often as possible.
We would love to remove all plastic from our operation but the health department has rules. Whenever possible, we use recyclable or natural alternatives to common plastic items.
